Our Cottage
The perfect get away retreat. Tuck yourself away in front of the log burner or enjoy a glass of wine over diner at The Jolly Huntsman just down the village street. Enjoy the heart of the Cotswolds or soak up city life in nearby Bath.
Malthouse Cottage is part of the old 18th Century brewery now converted into a cosy romantic one double bedroomed home nestling in a quiet lane just off the main street in this friendly village. There is an airy bedroom fitted with oak wardrobes, comfortable bed and desk/dressing table, bathroom with both bath and shower. Fully equipped kitchen and a spacious yet intimate lounge with beamed ceiling and log burner. It has all you need for a great stay.
We bought the cottage in March 2017. It is a very spacial place for us. We bought our first married home in 1990 just 100yds up the road in The Ridings and nessa taught in the village school. We still have many good friends in the village.
Everything you need
We hope there is everything you need in the cottage. We use it frequently and so we do have our personal things there however please feel free to use anything; just replace any food items used.
We don't have a housekeeper so we do ask that you leave the cottage clean when you leave and put the rubbish out. It's much appreciated.
Location
Kington St Michael is on the edge of the Cotswolds and just 5 mins from junction 17 of the M4. As you turn off head south towards Chippenham on the A350 and after 1 mile turn right at the traffic lights, by The Plough pub, signposted KSM. This road takes you straight into the village. When the speed limit drops to 30 take care as the road narrows. As you head up through the village street Malthouse Cottage is about 400m along on the left hand side. Look out for a close on the right called The Ham. At this point the road narrows. The entrance to the cottage is just 50m further along. You will see a mirror on a telegraph pole. Turn left there onto a gravel drive and there is a parking space in front of number 51.
